Parliamentary Affairs Minister Saryu Roy, who was one of those to have demanded CBI
probe against RJD chief Lalu Prasad in the fodder scam, today welcomed the Supreme Court order to prosecute him in cases regarding it separately.
The SC order is historic and in accordance with the spirit of IPC. This is a welcome judgement, Roy, who also holds charge of food and public distribution system portfolio,
said.
“The fodder scam case is on the basis of cases filed by me and my friends in 1996,” he said adding the SC had directed the CBI to investigate the scam wherever it had happened. And CBI had registered separate FIRs in different cases, he added.
He said Prasad had wanted the cases filed separately be treated one but the Supreme Court had not agreed to it and decided it that he face the trial in all the four
fodder scam cases. “The Supreme Court’s stand is welcome.
