Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today appeared before a local court in connection with a case of violation of code of conduct during the 2009 Parliamentary election at Bistupur here.

The Chief Minister, accompanied by another accused, appeared before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate G K Tiwari in connection with the case of violation of code of conduct during the parliamentary poll in 2009. Das and 12 others BJP activists had been accused of hoisting party flag and banners at Bistupur roundabout without prior approval of the district administration. The court has recorded the statement of all the accused and fixed April 15 for next hearing.

Das also appeared before court in another case. Das accompanied by 22 accused including the then Kadma BJP Mandal president Sudhansu Ojha appeared before the court of sub-divisional judicial magistrate Ashok Kumar in regard with a case that had been registered in 2007.

A named FIR had been registered against 23 BJP activists, including Das and 500 unknown persons after he had allegedly forcibly taken away all the accused who were arrested for constructing a boundary wall of a temple without the administration’s permission, said Singh.

The court has recorded the statement of Das and others in this connection and fixed the next date for hearing on April 25. Das pleaded that he was innocent and accused the then
ruling government of implicating him in a false case.
